In an attempt to show that I am not biased towards road racing (which I am 😉 ), I am posting some details on local and local-ish Mountain Bike events.
There are a couple of local mountain bike events on the horizan which may be of interest to our members. All of these events feature adult and Go-Ride racing. Unlike road racing, mountain bike races are Go-Ride events for children under 12 and sometimes under 13. This means that any child can race and license is not required. However, it also means that there are likely to be water bottles being given out.  So parents take note, you will have to make even more space in your cupboards. 🙂
The events currently listed are the National Points Series race 1 at Sherwood Pines (Sat 23rd March – Sun 24th March) and the Midlands XC series race 2 at Dronfield (Sun 14th April). There are also a number of events which I expect to run, but which haven’t been confirmed yet. Over the summer nights there are a series of Moutain Bike time trials on Wednesday nights and sometimes XC races on Fridays at Sherwood Pines. A Friday Night series also usually runs across differing venues around Nottinghamshire. I will post details of these events when they are confirmed.
