Go-ride for youngsters

Go RideWhat is it?

Go-ride is British Cycling’s programme to encourage young people onto bikes – for pleasure, leisure and sport.
Young people are generally introduced to the Go-ride programme in their school and then passed to a registered club if they’ve enjoyed themselves.

IMGP7454Each week we offer a Go-ride session for young people – what we’re doing may change from one week to the next, but it will be listed on our Events page. Our Go-ride goal is to help young people enjoy their cycling, improve their skills and introduce them to racing if that’s what they’re interested in.

We have a coach – Simon Shaw (07913 519 026); and a Child Welfare Officer – Mary Gill (0784 1828 126).

Who can Go-ride?

Young people from 8 to 16 years with a bike in good working order and a helmet are welcome. You don’t need to have done school sessions or have all the right gear.

You can join the club (Membership), but you don’t have to. You can join British Cycling, but again … you don’t have to.

British Cycling themselves offer various professionally coached holiday activity programmes – to see up-to-date details you need to view the British Cycling calendar.
