Santa on a bike!

Merry Christmas!

No bikes and no rollers needed this Wednesday (14th) … it’s our last club night before Christmas so we’re going to have a bit of a fuddle!

Bring:

  • Finger food type snacks
  • Your best Christmas jumper!! and a Santa hat!

We’ll bring:

  • The kettle
  • A few bits to keep you entertained!!

Note – we’re in the 6th form block not the usual dining hall.

From this Wednesday we’ll be indoors at Aldercar High School – check the Calendar for when we meet. ALL WELCOME!

NEW ROOM – we’ll be in the new dining room … in the new building! It can be reached from either car park:

  • If you park on the tennis courts as you have been then go up the steps to the right of the sports hall and in through the door on the right.
  • If you go in through the Dalton’s Close entrance then you can drop kit off at the very end of the car park and park in any appropriate space – NOTE the narrow drop-off area provides access for emergency vehicles do not leave your car there!

Bring a clean bike, smooth tyres, rollers or turbo, a bottle and a towel and prepare to work hard!! In from 7pm, on and ready to roll by 7:30pm.

If you can’t ride rollers and you’d like to learn we can teach you! If you’d like to borrow a set of rollers please let us know and we’ll try to loan you a set.

Remember your warm layers and non-cycling shoes for journeying too and from Aldercar! AND A WOOLLY HAT!!

If you just want to pop down for a chat that’s fine too … hopefully we’ll have the kettle on 🙂

Bryan Steel

Guests at club night 28th January

Next Wednesday Martin has arranged for Godfrey Bikewear and Bryan Steel to join us at club night.

Bryan SteelBryan will be bringing along his medals and hopefully chatting about his cycling experiences – including Olympic Games, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, coaching and challenges!

The guys from Godfrey will be bringing samples of the kit for us to take a look at and consider.

We’ll still be running a rollers/turbo session, and we’ll have the kettle … come along and join us!

Tonight will be our first Go-ride indoors session of the 2013/14 season – rollers and turbos are go!

We’ll be there from 7 to 9pm, and rolling from 7:30 for around an hour – we’re in the main hall (accesses by the other (summer) gate – not the sports hall way).

Please bring:

  • A CLEAN bike ideally with smooth tyres
  • Your turbo or rollers … we’ll have a few spare to help out
  • Layers – no leaving the school with just your shorts and jersey on!
  • Trainers – no leaving the school in your cycling shoes!
  • Water or juice bottle
  • … lots of energy!

Costs: £2 for members and £4 for non-members.

Senior riders are very welcome but the Wednesday road rides should continue for a little while longer.

… and of course … we’ll have the kettle so if you just fancy dropping in for a natter and a brew then feel free!
