Liz Johnson is running a weekday 4 hour track summer school for ladies and teenagers (with some track experience) – fixed wheel bikes only.
Wednesday 20th August 2014 10am-2pm

During the first hour session you will learn and practice basic/intermediate track cycling techniques and develop skills
From 10 am absolute beginners/refresher on track riding:
- Bike check / Safety
- Mount/Dismount
- Adjusting speed with a fixed wheel bike
- Stopping safely at the rail
- Observation
From 11pm onwards progressive track skills:
- Following a leader / changing front
- Sprinting off the front to the next group
- Riding side by side
- Holding a rider at the start
Lunch 12.30-12.50
From 1pm onwards games and races in different categories

You’ll need to bring:
- Pedals
- Helmet
- Track mitts
- Cycling shoes/clothes
- Change of clothes etc
- FOOD and Drink (cake and fruit provided)

Velodrome markings
Bikes can be provided (about 10 in total) but the smallest size is a 48cm.
Forest Town Track League looms large … with registration and coaching nights being held on 7th, 14th and 28th April.
