Go-ride cancelled – 6 May 2015

Apologies folks a combination of a rainy forecast and a particularly slippery surface mean that we’ve taken the decision to cancel tonight’s Go-ride session.

Go-ride back to Ripley!

Our club Go-ride sessions start back in the Ripley Town Hall car park tonight – nearest postcode is DE5 3FW.

On the tarmac… come with smooth tyres if you can
Go-ride starts at 7:00pm and runs through to 8:30pm (light and weather permitting)
For all ages 6+
Bring a bike, helmet, gloves, an extra layer and a drink
£2 if you’re a member, £4 if you aren’t.

There may be a senior ride out …

Spalding Go-ride races with prizes

From British Cycling’s Steve Crosland via Dean Hughes: “Spalding CC have put a lot of work into this event and have attracted £600 sponsorship for the Go-ride part of the event!

I hope your club has been able to put a strong team together for this Italian Pursuit Event? The winners of the club event will receive £125 cash, with £80 going to the second place team and £45 to the third. Also the usual Go-ride medals and goodies will be on offer.” Click to learn more.

Results – Sam & Ben in Shropshire

Ben at Shrewsbury

Day 2 of a busy weekend, Sam and Ben Marsh raced the Mid Shropshire Wheelers Circuit Race No.3 at the Shrewsbury Sports Village.

Ben was 2nd Youth D and Sam 12th Youth C. Once again really windy. Ben raced at the front in group of 4. Tried to break on lap 4 but got pegged back. 2nd in sprint finish to the line!! Sam had a great race staying in front group for six laps until break went and split the field.

Results – Ben & Sam in Scampton Duathlon

Last weekend Ben Marsh and Sam Marsh competed in the RAF Scampton Duathlon – part of the East Midlands Tri Series.

Ben & Sam – Scampton Duathlon

Ben finished 3rd in his Tri Start 1 race and Sam finished 4th in the Tri Start 2 category. Both boys performed brilliantly in really windy conditions and massive fields Ben with 41 boys and 28 girls and Sam with 64 boys and 42 girls!! Brilliant bike leg by both third fastest in there age groups.
