Sam and Ben East Midlands Tri Series Update

Sam and Ben finished the East Midlands Tri Series by competing in the Roade Junior Tri on the 28th Sept. They have both had great fun and a really competitive year.

Ben finished 6th in the Tristart age group on 3506 points capping his first year by winning the out of series Nottingham Children’s Tri in September. The Tristart 1 age category was really nip and tuck.

Sam finished in a fighting 13th with 3598 points place achieving his best score in the last race at Roade . An extra 40 seconds quicker over the season would have moved him up to 7th place overall!! Keep practicing those transitions Sam! Sam capped his year with 3rd place in TS1 Rother Valley Triatahlon.

They both move up an age group next year to TS1 for Ben and TS2 for Sam. Good luck boys.

Sam and Ben’s Big Yorkshire Weekend

Sam and Ben had a big Yorkshire Weekend. Starting with the Rother Valley Triathalon Festival on Saturday 8th June. Sam competed in his second open water Triathalon finishing in 3rd place in the 9-10 year old category. The boys then moved up to Harrogate on Sunday and competed in the Harrogate Boneshaker Junior Triathalon where not to be outdone by his Brother Ben finished 3rd in the Tristar category. Sam put up a great performance in the Tristart 1 category finishing 15th in a strong field and doing well to complete 2 triathalons in 2 days. Well done guys!

Lincoln Kids Duathalon RAF Scampton

On Saturday Sam and Ben took part in the Lincoln Kids Duathalon at RAF Scampton (Home of the Red Arrows!!) Ben finished 2nd in Tristar cat and Sam finished 4th in Tristart 1 cat. Sam is going to work on his map skills for next race!! Well done boys!!

Heanor Clarion members Sam and Ben are taking part in this years East Midlands Junior Triathalon Series. As such they raced in the first event The Mark Tanton Memorial Triathalon in Northampton on Sunday. Ben had a great debut in the Tri start category finishing an overall 6th with 3rd place in the bike section. Sam also had a great race in his second year in Tristar 1 finishing 17th overall from 68 competitors with the bike section being his strongest posting 7th fastest time!!
