May 2012 became a special month for two Heanor Clarion regulars.
A well-kept secret until spring … the annual Sainsbury’s 2012 Schools Games would be held as a test event for the 2012 London Olympics … young riders would be using the Olympic velodrome!

New Time and Date of Saturday 30th June 6.00-8.00pm
Unfortunately to date we have only six signed up for the trip on the 27th May. I am hoping this is mainly due to the late time slot of 8.00-10.00pm on a Sunday evening putting people off.
Last Saturday evening 16 Heanor Clarion members and guests, along with assorted ”hangers on”, visited the velodrome at Manchester for a club taster session. Suffice to say that a good time was had by all!
Following on from the success of the Cluster sessions the coaching team who have been delivering these sessions have discovered that we can use the English Institute of Sport Sheffield facilities … if we have clean bikes!!
James Shaw won the Future Stars Madison with his Sky team mate Fabio Close at Revolution 36 at the weekend … watch out for him in tonight’s ITV4 highlights programme.
Sunday 20th November 2011 saw a bunch of Heanor Clarion youngsters join the East Midlands cluster for 3 hours of fun on and off the track.
