The Great Notts Bike ride will be held on Sunday 23 June and has three different distances on offer 25, 50 or 100 miles.  I have decided that I will forfeit my opportunity to lead the pack around the 100 mile route to accompany Carter on the 50 mile route.  😆   The event is open to 10 year olds and up (under 10s can ride on tag-alongs) and would be a great experience and achievement for the youngsters.  There will be feed stations along the route, so it will be like riding a proper sportive, or tour stage for those with a better imagination.  So I was wondering if there are any other parents and youngsters who would like to ride the 50 mile circuit.  The event organisers have stated that there must be one adult to every two children.  It would be great if we could get a Heanor team to ride together as a group (I reckon that by the end of the 50 mile route that we’ll have a fine-tuned train of riders which could rival the seniors)  🙂 .  Obviously, the purpose of the team will be to drag me around and deliver me 25 meters from the line so that I can finish with a blistering sprint.  😉

I believe that entry costs are £20 for adults and £10 for the juniors.

Have a look at the website there are events planned for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday including elite, national, regional and youth circuit races as well as chopper and folding bike races and a city ride.
